Congratulations on your move to Hawaii!

 
Hawaii’s unique location serves as the military hub of the Pacific. Relocation is a challenging time for families, but there are many people and institutions dedicated to making your transition as smooth and easy as possible. Hickam Elementary became a Purple Star Norbert Award Recipient in the first year it was offered because of our dedication to supporting military families.
Please note there are three elementary schools that service Hickam Air Force Base: Nimitz, Mokulele and Hickam Elementary School.
 
Located on the tabs to the right are documents meant to guide and support your transition and enrollment at Hickam Elementary School. Students enrolling in our public school must have documentation proving they are residents of JBPHH, their health records, documents from their previous school and, if necessary, other legal documents. Resources and opt-outs exist for students in exceptional circumstances. Please refer to our Registration Requirements for detailed information.

Enrollment Process During the School Year

In Person Registration (Preferred)
 
Visit our main office during registration hours to pick up a registration packet.
Registration Packets will not be issued without a signed lease agreement. An offer letter will still need additional documentation that you are within our district, ie. lodging invoice or orders.

Partial Online Registration is available via DOE Website
You must still come in to our main office to complete the registration process.

Summer Registration 

School Year 2025 - 2026

We will begin accepting registration for next school year on
Monday June 2, 2025
Monday - Friday 
8:30 am - 2:00 pm 

Enrolling Parent/Guardian

  • Enrollment Packet can only be picked up with documented residence within our geographical area. (Highly recommend checking with housing before registering if you are still in lodging.)
  • Bring a printed copy of one of the following
    • Signed lease 
    • Temporary lodging invoice from the Royal Alaka’i
    • Military orders assigned to JBPHH with temporary lodging invoice
 

Enrollment Packet

  • Enrollment packets can be dropped off from 0830-1400 Monday through Friday in our Main Office.
  • Remember to bring an original copy of your student(s)’ birth certificate and your photo identification.
Student
  • Temporary School Photo can be taken during enrollment or at the Back to School Day 
  • School Supply lists will be posted on our website.
  • Uniforms can be purchased online, delivered via shipping, or at our back to school day.

 

Student's School Lunch

  • New Students wanting to purchase school lunch may deposit at the Back to School Fair via cash or check made payable to Hickam Elementary School.
  • After the first day of school, you can sign up for digital payments using your student(s) school id number via https://www.ezschoolpay.com/

 

Student Bus Payment

  • Bus Service is only available for Onizuka Village.
